The people of Ejemekwuru in Oguta LGA had finished their day's business last Monday and had gone in for the day when suddenly, around 12.03am,  rain of bullets caused a stir in the entire community.
People remained indoors, shivering, while the shooting  lasted for almost thirty minutes. Nobody came out because it was too dark.
A native who narrated the incident to imoedgenews reporter, on condition of anonymity, said, "that, that early Tuesday morning when people started coming out, news started filtering in that the seven occupants in a building at Umuekezie, Ngwara/Eziama in Umuebe Ejemekwuru have been wiped out".
He said it was not possible identifying the perpetrators but the locals who lived around hinted that they saw a Sienna car pull by the road and all the occupants, who wore camouflage and heavily armed too, marched into the compound of one Mr John Ugorji and bullets started raining.
Our source disclosed that all the tenants( natives of neighbouring Agwa community) who had fled their community during crisis, were wiped out.
In his words, "since,     those people packed in there, we have been suspecting them. We have been having unusual incidents of robberies here."
According to him, three of the deceased were a woman and two of her children, one victim suspected to be a Calabar man and three other men.
Our narrator disclosed that the Town Union under the rulership of Eze Hipolyte Duru has lodged an official complaint with security operatives.
As at the time of filing this report, owners of four of the dead bodies from Agwa have claimed them and buried them at once.
Our source said, when relatives of the four came to pick them they muttering things like " since you people don't want to live decent lives, well, go and rest".
The other three victims have been deposited in a morgue.
Imoedgenews reporter learnt that investigations are currently ongoing.
