The Imo State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has deployed comprehensive security measures to ensure a hitch-free visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Imo State on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Security personnel have been strategically deployed to all entry and exit points into the state, as well as along the route from Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport to Owerri Metropolis and other local government areas. Route lining and robust security coverage have also been activated at all designated venues of the presidential engagements.
The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has assured Imolites and visitors of their safety and urged them to remain law-abiding, cooperate with security personnel, and adhere to traffic diversions and other arrangements put in place for the success of the visit.
Operation Show of Force and Visibility Patrols have been deployed across the three senatorial districts of Imo State to reassure residents, deter criminal elements, and ensure total security coverage before, during, and after the visit. The police, in synergy with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), have also deployed traffic wardens to identified traffic congestion-prone areas to ensure free flow of traffic and ease of movement.
The Command has warned all criminally minded elements that security agencies are united, vigilant, and prepared to respond to any breach of peace. The public is urged to report suspicious activities or persons to the nearest police station or through the Command's emergency lines.
With these measures in place, the Imo State Police Command is committed to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for the presidential visit. Residents and visitors are advised to cooperate with security personnel and follow all instructions to ensure a successful event.
