In a series of profound engagements with Imo women, Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi PhD has reassured the people of Imo State of his commitment to restore the lost glory of the state. During his visits to the annual August Meeting held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ubomiri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Methodist Church of Nigeria, MCC Road, and Trinity Anglican Church, Obazu Mbieri, Amadi expressed his willingness to partner with women in building a new Imo.
Speaking to a mammoth crowd of women at St. Mary's Catholic Parish, Ubomiri, Amadi emphasized the importance of women's opinions and aspirations in governance. He noted that mothers are the major victims of bad leadership and poor governance, and as such, their concerns and challenges must be integrated into the template of a new Imo. Amadi made a donation of three million naira to support the women in their community development projects.
At the Methodist Church of Nigeria, MCC Road, Owerri, Amadi informed the women's fellowship that any leadership that will succeed must always listen to and partner with women and the church. He recalled the role of the Methodist Church in pioneering civilization and community development in Imo State and appealed to them to take back that position by insisting that only those worthy of public trust are given important public positions. Amadi made a donation of ten million naira to the church and three million naira to the women.
At Trinity Anglican Church, Obazu Mbieri, Amadi commended the women for their sustained effort in community building and development. He appealed to them not to give up in the face of inexplicable ineptitude and gross incompetence of leaders today. He promised to create jobs for youths, revamp moribund industries, restore confidence in public schools and primary healthcare systems, and make security of lives and properties a priority. Amadi made a donation of three million naira to the women in support of their ongoing community development initiatives.
The visits were attended by prominent members of the Mazi Organization, including Chief Henry Onwukwe, Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu, and Hon. Micheal Crown Njoku, among others.
Amadi's engagements with Imo women demonstrate his commitment to inclusive governance and his willingness to listen to and partner with different stakeholders in the state. His promises to create jobs, restore public schools and primary healthcare systems, and prioritize security are a testament to his vision for a new Imo.
The responses from the women and church leaders were overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for Amadi's donations and commitment to their welfare.
