The ancient kingdom of Assa in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State witnessed a grand outpouring of love and admiration as dignitaries from across the Niger Delta and beyond gathered to celebrate the birthday of His Royal Majesty, Eze Emmanuel U.N. Assor, the Odozi Obodo II of Assa. The celebration, which spanned several days, reached its climax at Mbakwe Hall, Rockview, with a colorful and well-attended grand finale that reflected the monarch’s immense contributions to his people and state.
Eze Assor, who is also the Chairman of the Ohaji/Egbema Council of Traditional Rulers and the National Secretary of TROMPCOM (Traditional Rulers of Oil Mineral Producing Communities of Nigeria), was visibly overwhelmed with gratitude as he addressed his well-wishers. “I’m excited and humbled by the love my people and friends have shown me. My family is happy. I pray that good things will continue to happen in Ohaji/Egbema and Imo State at large,” he said.

He emphasized that the gathering of such a large and diverse crowd was a testament to Eze Assor’s impact and reputation across the Niger Delta.
Chief Oluchi Chris Odika also lent his voice, saying: “Eze Assor is a powerful and respected figure in Imo State. As a former NDDC Commissioner and now National Secretary of TROMPCOM, he has done a lot for his people. This celebration is not just for him but for all he represents—service, faith, and development.”
