Hon. James Esile Uba, the member representing OnuImo in the Imo State House of Assembly, has reiterated his commitment to human capital development and empowerment in his constituency. According to him, the creation of a film village at Umucheke Okwe, which he proposed, will not only harness the talents of Imo youths but also improve the internally generated revenue of the state and develop the local economy of OnuImo council .
Hon. Uba emphasized that human capital development and education are crucial to empowering youths and women in his constituency. Through his "Fresh Air" program, he has been providing support to his constituents for the past five years, even before his election into the Imo State House of Assembly in 2023. This year alone, he paid the WAEC examination fees for 104 candidates, marking the fifth edition of the program.
In addition to his educational initiatives, Hon. Uba has also been promoting sports development in his constituency. The recently concluded OnuImo football tournament, which he sponsored, saw the selection of five outstanding players by the Heartland FC Coach, Emmanuel Amuneke. Hon. Uba noted that he was committed to helping his people, who are lagging behind in many areas.
Hon. Uba's commitment to empowerment extends beyond education and sports. He has also been providing financial assistance to market women to boost their small-scale businesses, thereby improving their economy. Furthermore, he has secured admissions for 50 persons from his constituency in various tertiary institutions within and outside Imo State.
