The Imo State Police Command has taken a significant step towards enhancing road safety by launching an enforcement initiative for third-party vehicle insurance. Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, met with key stakeholders, including transport unions, journalists, and revenue officials, to emphasize the importance of securing vehicle insurance.
The meeting, held at the Command's headquarters in Owerri, aimed to sensitize stakeholders and raise public awareness about the mandatory insurance requirement, as stipulated by the Insurance Act and Motor Vehicle (Third-Party Insurance) Act.

Enforcement Team_: An enforcement team, led by CSP Isa Kolo, has been inaugurated to ensure compliance across the state.
Impoundment of Vehicles_: Vehicles without valid third-party insurance will be impounded until compliance is ensured.
_Stakeholder Cooperation Representatives from transport unions, journalists, and revenue officials have pledged their cooperation and support for the initiative.

The Imo State Police Command urges all motorists to comply with the third-party insurance requirement and support efforts to improve safety on the roads. The enforcement initiative is set to take effect on February 1, 2025.
