Bravery in the Face of Terror: Imo Police Repel Attack on Njaba Divisional Headquarters"_

In a press release issued by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Henry Okoye, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Imo State Command, the police have confirmed that operatives successfully repelled a violent attack on the Njaba Divisional Headquarters by suspected terrorists affiliated with the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed militia, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
On September 15, 2024, the attackers, arriving in three SUVs, launched a ferocious assault on the headquarters with sporadic gunfire. Undaunted, the police operatives swiftly took up defensive positions and engaged the assailants, resulting in the neutralization of three attackers. The remaining assailants, who sustained various gunshot injuries, fled into nearby bushes.
The police recovered one General Purpose Machine Gun, one AK-47 rifle, and three vehicles: a Toyota Lexus 470, a Mercedes GLK, and a Toyota Venza. An intense operation, led by Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, is currently underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
CP Danjuma commended the bravery of the operatives and assured the public that the Command remains committed to enhancing the State's internal security and will continue to take decisive actions against any threats to public peace.
In a statement, one of the gallant officers said, "We settled their case this evening; they came to attack the Njaba police station, and they got what they deserved."
The successful repulsion of the attack is a testament to the bravery and dedication of the police operatives in Imo State. The ongoing operation aims to capture those responsible and ensure justice is served.
