The Imo police command under the dogged supervision of CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde has recorded another success in securing the lives and properties of Imolites by arresting 26 members of air at home enforcers suspected to be members of the proccribed Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB)that terrorizes the people and damaged lots of people's properties in the state recently.
The suspects who were nabbed by the galant office of Imo command on Wednesday were accused of terrorizing the neighborhood of irete and shooting randomly while attacking some people in an event in a Hotel.
The state Commissioner of Police Mohammed Ahmed Barde while addressing the journalist in Owerri said that command tactical team in collaboration with the operatives of 18 Police Mobile Unit were mobilized immediately to the scene when residents reported the presence of IPOB members molesting people in a hotel at Catherine Bus stop Irete.
Barde stated sadly that Unfortunately, a lifeless body later identified as Remigius Emeka Njoku, a relative of the celebrant was seen lying lifeless in the pool of his own blood.
The out laws upon siting the police operatives, opened fires with their rifles but were overwhelmed by the dexterity and superior fire power of the police tactical unit and they fled into the bush with you various degree of injuries which was discovered when police did a thorough search around the hotel and nearby bushes where traces of blood was seen which suggested that some of the terrorist was hit and also, the police recovered abandoned AK- 47 rifle and 48 rounds of live ammunition, four pump action guns, 18 rounds off live cartridges, two AK-47 Magazines and a face mask.
Meanwhile, a total of 26 suspects had been arrested and are e
undergoing interrogation.
The police Boss added that the suspects will be arranged in court in no distant time and warned that the Police will not spare anyone that will try to distabilize the
peace of Imo state and constitute a threat to lives and properties of the people.
